2010 Top 10 and more! Full Metal edition with extra lists!

Built a new blog just for this list(s) anyway its a crude looking site for now but I'll edit the actual layout later! Anyway if you've known me for any amount of time you know I am an old school metalhead from way back in the day, as such my top 10 or 20 or whatever reflects this, to say the list is biased is an understatement, at least Im honest about that, this will be a biased list to the albums i liked best and thought were best this year. the more times i listened to an album means the higher it will be on the lists! as a rule im not a fan of modern "death" lets be real modern death isnt really death anyway its shit, but i digress anyway if youre not from the metal old school or a big bm fan this list isnt for you lol! without further adieu

1. Accept ~ Blood Of The Nations

For me this has to be album of the year hands down! Huge fan of Accept, always have been and this album is a true Accept  headshredder! ive played this album almost nonstop since it dropped, a classic band and sound that have returned to their true glory days! unstoppable metal sound and true masters of the genre! Hails! just so many great songs on this one its hard to choose just 1 thats the best! listen to them all I say!

2. Enslaved ~ Axioma Ethica Odini

Great album here and I mulled making it my album of the year its a very close runner up to #1! Again Im a long time fan of this band also, and this album just makes the case that Enslaved is one of the best bm bands out there today or 15 years ago... this ones a true classic from start to finish wether youre a bm fan or not! a must have for any trve metalhead! a shining example of what progressive bm should be!

3. Triptykon ~ Eparistera Daimones and Shatter EP

Tom G Warrior is back and in for the kill! I included both releases because really it doesnt get any better than this! Tom Warrior of course of Hellhammer and Celtic Frost fame, Hellhammer an early bm band and Celtic Frost also a huge influence on the genre and other genres! this is almost at the same peak Celtic Frost were at before they broke up! unstoppable classic metal here, from one of metals early and still relavent masters!

4. Burzum ~ Belus

Varg is out of prison and back on the scene! The first Burzum album in over 10 years and its one of the best of the year, had Enslaved not been just so damn goood this probably would be the best trve bm release of the year! this is trve kvlt bm however by perhaps the first real master of the Norwegian scene. ive pretty much played this one all year long and still sounds fresh you seem to hear something different each time you listen to it!

5. Fear Factory ~ Mechanize

The second best comeback album of the year after Accepts! Gene Hoglan and Dino return to the fold making this the best Fear Factory album since Demanufacture in my opinion and that was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back in '95! This came out nearly a year ago or at least the leak did and again Ive listened to this almost non stop since then this was the earliest contender i knew to the top 10! it stuck around the whole year and is well worth a listen!

6. Decrepit Birth ~ Polarity

This is easily the best death album of the year! I am fairly new to this band but what ive heard so far im digging a lot very good death band is Decrepit Birth these guys will continue to make excellent albums i forsee! hell theres even a cover of Death's See Through Dreams as the bonus track! A returning Autopsy is nice but they only did an EP so these guys crack the top 10!

7. High On Fire ~ Snakes For The Divine

HoF return!!! and are very much on fucking fire! This is an excellent all around album especially if youre an HoF fan! How can you not be? Matt Pike as always is a riff monster and his vox kill at will on this one! Saw the live show and it just further cements this album as on of the best 10 this year! very great band album and live show the complete package! cheers to a job well done all around! Bonus points for the obvious Lemmyesque vocal stylings too btw!

8. Overkill ~ Ironbound

Easilly the thrash album of the year and hell maybe the best of Overkill's career! Bobby sounds as good as ever his vocal style is unique anyway to say the least but i dont think hes ever sounded better! this came out fairly early in the year and i think a lot of folks forgot it, i didnt for sure! again saw these guys on tour and they were excellent another great comeback story and album, in a year thats full of great comebacks!

9. Krieg ~ The Isolationist

Majestic dare I say beautiful!?!?!?!!!! bm from the US, Jersey of all places!!! of course i guess if the US has a place thats bm it would be Jersey... but i digress this is one of the more underrated bm albums and bands out there! excellent album that just cracked the top 10 at the last minute i enjoy this band and its sound! now you should get to know it too!


10. Motorhead ~ The World Is Yours

Cmon ya knew THIS was gonna make the top 10! If youve known me for any amount of time by now you should know im the worlds greatest Lemmy fan! This album delivers too, after 35 years as a band Motorhead still delivers again and again and again like true masters! Easily Motorheads best album since We Are Motorhead some 10 years ago! and a bitching album cover to boot! this leaked early and i cant stop listneing to this! easily be playing this all year next year too! this drops Dec 13th i think or close to that date this is also a self release so go buy the fucking thing!!!!

Ok so that wraps up the top 10 of 2010 grave omissions? maybe i dont know anyway thats my top 10 im gonna post 11 thru 20 next just a list no notes or album covers hope you enjoyed this list (s) cheers to a great year for metal!!! \m/

Now for a few honorable mentions, these albums are some great ones too that for whatever reason didnt quite crack the list itself for me, but none the less these are albums ive played and enjoyed this year!
